Pulp Mill - Response to Public Submissions
(10 July, 2007)
pitt&sherry's principal environmental scientist, Dr Ian Woodward, assisted Gunns to prepare their response to public submissions for the EPBC referral (Commonwealth government approval). The report was publicly released on 9 July 2007and is available at http://www.gunnspulpmill.com.au/epbc/. The Commonwealth will consider the report during its assessment process.
Although the scope of the EPBC assessment is limited to matters of Commonwealth interest, the report nevertheless responded to all matters raised in the submissions.
A ten page non-technical summary in the response document provides a convenient and simple understanding of the likely environmental impacts of the whole project, without having to wade through all the technical jargon or previous reports. The extracted summary is attached for your convenience.
