Project Overview
In conjunction with a Melbourne based developer and local architects Glenn Smith and Associates, pitt&sherry are currently working on the design for what is likely to be one of the first Green Star Certified buildings in Tasmania and, not coincidentally, pitt&sherry's new home in Launceston. The development ticks all the boxes as far as the Company's vision and direction towards sustainability are concerned and it is also an exciting, challenging and innovative project for Tasmania of which we are proud to be involved.
The development is located in Cimitiere Street in Launceston's CBD and is known as Cimitiere House. It comprises a five-storey office building with a total net lettable floor area of approximately 4600m2. It will be largely office space with retail tenancies and a car park located on the ground floor. The building is almost complete with the anticipated 5 Star Green Star rating looking very likely and an expected completion date of March/April 2009.
Many innovative systems have been incorporated into the design to ensure that it will be a truly sustainable building. A central atrium is located within the building, which ensures that high levels of natural light and ventilation are available in all locations in the building. A cross section through the building is provided below to help demonstrate how it all works.

Sustainable Thinking
The world is moving rapidly towards a position of determining initiatives on the basis of their capacity to contribute to sustainable objectives. We believe this shift in global value systems is permanent and gaining momentum, with sufficient magnitude to require a proportionate response from pitt&sherry. Find Out More
