“Asia Pacific Agri-Corp is focused on the development of a beef cattle abattoir and processing centre on the fringes of Gladstone in Central Queensland. It is a $150m project, which will employ about 150 permanent employees when operational, so is a significant development for the region. We engaged pitt&sherry to do the design engineering for the abattoir, including energy usage and assessment of the feedlot. They are an integral part of the design team. With their experience in the food processing sector, they gave us a lot of advice on the construction of the feedlot and how we might generate renewable energy from the waste. The project is very fluid and subject to ups and downs. If there’s one thing you can be certain of before you start a building project, it’s that you are going to have problems. pitt&sherry have been very supportive and responsive, and work through issues with us. I have regular meetings with them and feel they have joined us for the journey. Our key contact at pitt&sherry is very approachable and their teams’ accessibility is a point of difference. On many occasions, they have gone outside their standard scope of works to provide additional information on matters that were helpful to us. They are competent professionals who go the extra distance within a team environment.” Dan Daly, Managing Director, AgriFood.
