Janet has a talent for ensuring businesses embrace technology-enabled business model changes that both minimise strategic and operational risk and maximise business growth and return. Janet’s capabilities include the ability to work at both the strategic and detailed operational levels with a talent for developing strategic initiatives and translating them into operational success. Her vast experience encompasses strategic change programs, acquisitions and divestitures, large scale project management and leadership of large, complex teams.  She has more than 20 years of senior, corporate management experience across multiple disciplines including Finance, HR, Strategy and IT and joined our Board in March 2019.

Robert has 30 years’ experience in the design and implementation of civil infrastructure works. His expertise include assistance with feasibility studies of major utility services; design, documentation and project management of a wide variety of infrastructure utility works ranging from small scale bespoke solutions through to world scale projects.  He has worked on projects throughout Australia, the Asia Pacific, Middle East and United Kingdom.

Kate is a Chartered Engineer and Transport Planner with over 25 years’ experience in consulting and local government throughout Australia and London. Kate has excellent communication skills, as well as a talent for connecting people with ideas which has enabled her to deliver many complex, multidisciplinary projects in transport and infrastructure. As Transport Infrastructure Sector Leader, Kate provides direction and guidance on transport projects across pitt&sherry’s teams. Kate brings to the board her strong background in client management and general consulting.

 

Jane Bailey
Company Secretary

Jane has extensive experience and a deep knowledge and understanding of corporate regulatory and company rules. She has held diverse roles, including 10 years in private practice as a legal practitioner and lecturer at various tertiary institutions, as well as experience in the private sector.

As Company Secretary at pitt&sherry Jane is responsible for providing guidance on corporate governance so that our business operates in accordance with required statutory and legal provisions.

In her role as Contracts Review Leader she is responsible for providing support and advice to assist with the review, negotiation and establishment of appropriate contractual and commercial arrangements for the business operations of the pitt&sherry.

Jane is a strong team player with excellent organisational skills and an ability to clearly communicate complex sensitive information to stakeholders.

Craig is an experienced finance leader who has successfully managed financial and accounting functions for local and regional businesses both in Australia and overseas for more than fifteen years.  He is able to deliver sound financial and governance outcomes while at the same time delivering commercial and strategic guidance and support. He has extensive finance and business experience including acquisitions, integrations, divestments, restructuring, bank financing, tax planning, establishing new businesses, transitioning new management, risk management, health and safety and business systems. Craig is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary, Certified Finance and Treasury Professional and an experienced private company director and private NFP Board director.

 

David Finnigan
General Manager of Operations

David holds degrees in civil engineering and economics and has more than 25 years’ experience in providing client-focused consultancy services in  engineering projects across the industrial, community services and transport infrastructure sectors in Australia.

David has strategic and operational roles and responsibilities requiring collaboration with other pitt&sherry offices and strategy groups to provide a common cultural approach to doing business and pursuing the company’s overarching vision and strategy.

David’s core capabilities have been developed through his work on significant and complex building, civil infrastructure, road, bridge, mining, processing and manufacturing projects, and he continues to hold senior leadership roles in major Tasmanian projects, acting as the pivotal point between designers, contractors and the client.  David has spent a considerable portion of his professional career providing technical, contractual and commercial advice to clients, broadly involving the procurement and implementation of numerous infrastructure projects within Australia.

Sarah has been an important part of pitt&sherry’s growth for over 17 years. Following a diverse range of roles, Sarah is now responsible for the management and delivery of the human resources functions across the whole company.

Sarah contributes to the development of staff, whilst having a broad company-wide knowledge of all systems, processes and support services.

Stephen is a civil engineer with a broad skill base that includes structural, mining and civil engineering design and project management. With a deep knowledge resulting from his work in the mining, industrial, commercial, transport and residential sectors, Stephen has developed problem‐solving skills, often drawing on ideas used in other industry sectors.

Having worked on a range of moderate and large construction sites, mining sites and road and rail projects Stephen has understanding of quality, environment and WHS requirements, and experience in design with constructability in mind.

Matt has extensive experience across transport, industrial and water infrastructure projects through his varied leadership roles on significant transport and water industry infrastructure panels. He has a proven track record of success through collaboratively working within relationship driven teams. Whether business case preparation, multidiscipline design and management or creation of tenders, Matt delivers specialist knowledge and experience to deliver excellence in water, industrial and commercial projects.

Regional Manager - Tasmania

Andrew is responsible for projects delivered in Tasmania across the industrial infrastructure, mining, food and beverage, and transport infrastructure markets.

As Group Executive Tasmania, Andrew uses his leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the company’s resources and capabilities to create a unified delivery model across the state.

Andrew’s engineering experience includes six years in the United Kingdom as a geotechnical engineer in investigations and tunnel design, three years as the manager of pitt&sherry’s operations in Queensland, and fifteen years as manager of the Launceston office delivering industrial and civil engineering solutions, and support to the recovery initiative in Timor Leste.

David is a senior principal with over 35 years’ experience in the design and construction of civil/structural engineering projects associated with the design, rehabilitation and management of bridges. David is responsible for the delivery of key operational matters and strategic initiatives related to technical development and risk across the company’s technical disciplines.

He has experience working within a large project team acting as the pivotal point between designers, contractors and the client. David is a nominated VicRoads Proof Engineer.

Malinda has been working the environmental field for over 25 years in Australia and New Zealand.  She has extensive experience working on transport infrastructure, water, waste and renewable energy projects. Malinda has worked in senior leadership roles for a number of years and is now the Regional Manager forpitt&sherry’s NSW operations. Malinda is focussed on clients and project delivery whilst growing pitt&sherry’s presence in the NSW market.

David Atchison
Mining Sector Lead

An experienced and qualified Business Development Manager who combines a strong technical background as a geologist with several year’s resource sector business development. Well networked both locally and internationally, with significant experience in overseas markets. Strengths include highly developed analytical, strategic, relationship building and negotiating skills.

Principal Structural

Martin is a Principal Structural Engineer, based in our Melbourne office.

He has worked for over 20 years as a consulting engineer in areas such as infrastructure/bridges, coastal engineering, offshore oil and gas, mining, defence, wind farm design, forensic engineering and in the development of innovative structural solutions.

Martin’s key areas of experience are in Structural Design/Investigation, Advanced Finite Element Analysis, non-linear geometry/materials and composite materials, Fatigue/Crack growth prediction and Project Management.

A Fellow of Engineers Australia Martin is also a VicRoads Proof Engineer.

Martin pursues a personal interest with the MFB in providing USAR structural engineering support, lecturing to firefighters on the structural aspects of Urban Search and Rescue.

His experience spans research and development, and the design and implementation of novel solutions to improve safety, productivity and profitability, resulting in multimillion dollar improvements. Doug Johnston has 30 years’ experience as an engineer and manager in the manufacturing industry. Doug joined the pitt&sherry team in August 2017 having spent the past 12.5 years working with CHEP Australia as their Technical Engineering Manager. Overseeing capital projects such as plant upgrades, equipment installations and plant improvement initiatives in the materials handling and industrial washing sectors. Doug has knowledge of engineering principals, process improvement methodology and has project management, operations and contractor management experience.

Andrew has more than 26 years’ experience in structural engineering, primarily in Melbourne but also in Brisbane and Perth.

In his 20 year career with Connell Wagner he was promoted to senior associate level. Andrew’s focus was on building structures across a variety of market segments, working on iconic projects including Crown Casino, Eureka Tower, MCG redevelopment, Melbourne Magistrates Court and various defence facilities. He then joined Adams Consulting Engineers spending six years as their engineering manager, leading teams on residential, commercial, retail and industrial building projects.

Robert has 30 years’ experience in the design and implementation of civil infrastructure works. His expertise include assistance with feasibility studies of major utility services; design, documentation and project management of a wide variety of infrastructure utility works ranging from small scale bespoke solutions through to world scale projects.  He has worked on projects throughout Australia, the Asia Pacific, Middle East and United Kingdom.

 

Matthew Rutter

Transport Infrastructure

Matthew has over 20 years’ experience leading teams on underground rail, surface rail, road and industrial infrastructure projects. He has fulfilled multidisciplinary management roles in Australia, New Zealand, PNG and the UK. His experience encompasses all phases of project delivery from feasibility assessment through to construction and asset management. He brings enhanced technical leadership and capability to pitt&sherry’s Melbourne team.

Leigh has over 15 years industry experience in planning, sustainability and environmental impact assessments. Working in the UK and Australia with a number of councils, Leigh brings to pitt&sherry a wealth of experience.

Connell Maskrey
Team Leader, Associate Engineer – Industrial

Connell is an engineering project manager with over 20 years’ experience in project engineering, multi-discipline design, commercial and contract management. He is responsible for project coordination and technical interface for a range of industrial and water projects within the Hobart office.

Connell’s non-process infrastructure experience spans large-bay workshops for mining facilities, warehouses, offices and laboratories, and fuel farms, along with water and wastewater treatment and pipeline systems, and power generation and transmission.

Ben Hart
Principal Bridge Engineer

Ben has 20 years’ experience in civil and structural engineering, specialising in the design, assessment, contract administration and asset management of transport infrastructure for road and rail bridges.

As an experienced pitt&sherry group leader and manager in transport projects and management, Ben embraces both simple and complex projects. Ben is skilled at the process and delivery of technical tasks, whilst effectively communicating to all project stakeholders with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.

 

David Coe
Manager - Technical Development and Risk

David is a senior principal with over 35 years’ experience in the design and construction of civil/structural engineering projects associated with the design, rehabilitation and management of bridges. David is responsible for the delivery of key operational matters and strategic initiatives related to technical development and risk across the company’s technical disciplines.

He has experience working within a large project team acting as the pivotal point between designers, contractors and the client. David is a nominated VicRoads Proof Engineer.

 

Matt Hyatt
Regional Manager - Victoria

Matt has extensive experience across transport, industrial and water infrastructure projects through his varied leadership roles on significant transport and water industry infrastructure panels. He has a proven track record of success through collaboratively working within relationship driven teams. Whether business case preparation, multidiscipline design and management or creation of tenders, Matt delivers specialist knowledge and experience to deliver excellence in water, industrial and commercial projects.
