pitt&sherry have been involved in maritime structures, coastal engineering and coastal zone

management since the company was formed in 1963. Continued work for port authorities, coastal

local government authorities and commercial organisations has enabled pitt&sherry to maintain

its expertise and expand its service offering.

pitt&sherry’s maritime engineering, coastal engineering and coastal zone management capability is enhanced by our long standing partnering arrangement with the Water Research Laboratory (WRL) at the University of New South Wales, considered to be the “birth place” of coastal engineering in Australia. pitt&sherry’s key capabilities in maritime, coastal engineering and coastal zone management range from design, project management through to inspection, assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures, ongoing wharf and jetty management and coastal assessment including:

• Wharf and jetty engineering including structural design

• Design of breakwaters, pontoons, and recreational facilities for marinas

• Inspections, load assessment and asset management for wharf and jetty infrastructure including berthing and mooring structures

• Design of seawalls, revetments and breakwaters Barge landing ramps

• Heavy duty port pavements and loading facilities Engineering for the rehabilitation and remediation of wharves, jetties and infrastructure

• Crane and lifting equipment engineering design Inspection, load assessment and asset management of crane and lifting equipment
