Project overview

Project aim

To amend the planning scheme and secure planning approval for a new whisky distillery and café at Westbury.

What we did

Our planners collaborated with TMK Design Solutions to help the Western Tiers Distillery get planning approval. Located in Westbury, the business will be Northern Tasmania’s latest whisky distillery. TMK designed the attractive building, and we prepared the planning report and managed the combined planning scheme amendment and permit application through to approval. Our traffic engineers prepared a Traffic Impact Assessment.

Key Outcomes

The new business is now operational and has strengthened the local economy and grown Tasmania's food services industry with an enjoyable flavour.

The Western Tiers Distillery is owned by Stillsmiths Pty Ltd, and is a fully automated, showcase distillery. The Distillery is a Stillsmiths Brand Ambassador to the Local, National and International market.
